Iconic franchises that could use a change

I must confess that there's not a game I'm looking forward to more this year than the new Tomb Raider. That's high honors considering a new installment in the Gears series is fast approaching which revived my gaming career. Before I start to tear up, let's get on with another brilliant article.

Now that I'm through with "feelings" and shit, let's get into the true meaning of why I brought us here today. Humanizing and Ms. Croft and emphasizing this gaming generation's ability to capture the human spirit via story telling is the best thing that could have happened to a once proud franchise. In honor of a fully redesigned Lara Croft I'd like to name just two characters/franchises that deserve the same treatment and ask who readers would like to see redone.

New Tomb Raider!

As we all know Tomb Raider is a staple in video game history and when the announcement was made that a new one would be released with a more "real" looking Lara Croft every man frowned that day.

....Then a few months later we saw a sneak peak of what Croft looked like and she was still hot.

....Months later a CGI trailer released and we went, "Damn this may actually be good. Plus she has a sexy ass accent to boot."

Well boys and girls, men and woman robots and trolls we have gameplay in it's alpha stage and all we can say is it's time to see the Lara Croft we have always wanted in a trailer that makes you go DAMN with ever single, fall, wound and explosion. We give Tomb Raider: Crossroads.

Yeah we know it rocks, plus we know you watched it twice to catch ever single spray of blood. What we want to know is where in the fuck has this Square Enix been hiding?

The new Lara Croft

I feel like the new coming of Tomb Raider hasn't been advertised as much as it needs to be. If you've yet to see the concepts and video, do yourself a favor and check them out. Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have taken this beloved character and changed every facet possible. This isn't your daddy's Lara Croft but a new, vulnerable, and very human Croft. Gone are the days of practicing in mansions and the stoic personality, instead we see a desperate woman whose ability to adapt and overcome is displayed prominently.
